George Washington
George Washington was born in 1732 in the colony of Virginia. Washington was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental army during the American Revolution. He also was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America. He is known as father of his country because if his enormous role in the American Revolution and foundation of the the country USA. George Washington also held an important roll in the writing of the Constitution which replaced the the article of confederation. Later he went on to become the first President of the United States.Washington during the Revolutionary War was known for his charisma, patriotism, and military experience. His dedication to his homeland started at a young age with the first of the political stands against the British Parliament. He was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Continental army because of his unmatched qualities. July 3rd, 1775, in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, he took his inexperienced militia troops to war which went on for eight and a half years. Washington led them to victory against the British. The role he took on was challenging and stressful. His duties were endless: managing the entire Continental Army, dealing with battle strategy, providing for the army, and actually fighting in the war, to name a few. All of this led to his many other accomplishments and accolades which include becoming first President of the newly founded United States. Everyone had utmost respect for the charismatic George Washington.
