Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jeffersons role in the American Revolution was much more political as oppose to fighting in the battles. He was also one of the founding fathers of the USA alongside George Washington. He played an important role in drafting the Declaration of Independence for the USA. He had a prestigious career as founder of Virginia Committee of Correspondence in which he argued the authority Parliament had over the colonies during the war. He had campaigned for freedom and was a major activist who got people motivated and interested in political freedom from the British. His words were what made him powerful. Jefferson was a member of the Continental Congress, was elected Governor of Virginia during the Revolution and also later proceeded to take on many other highly regarded roles in the newly founded American political system. These jobs included: minister of France (diplomat), the first secretary of state, the second Vice President, and the third President of the USA (regarded as one of the greats American Presidents). He also co-organized the Democratic and Republican parties of the American Government along with James Madison. Jefferson was an impressive man, quite the intellectual, he fluently spoke five languages, was an inventor and a scientists, and had interests in many other subjects as well.
